The University of St. Andrews is located in the medieval coastal town of St. Andrews. Steeped in history and set in a stunning location, it offers an unrivaled student experience which will set the scene for the rest of your life. St. Andrews is approximately three miles long with University buildings interspersed throughout. The town really is our campus. It is a thriving, close-knit community with a population of 20,000.

may pursue a specialized course of study that advances them in their Chemistry major requirements at Hopkins. Students will need to meet with Dr. Chris Falzone
, the program's Academic Director, to have their course selections pre-approved for use in the major. Chemistry courses that have been approved by Dr. Falzone will bring back Hopkins course equivalencies with grades that impact the Hopkins GPA. Non-Chemistry courses taken at St. Andrews will transferred back to Hopkins S/U, without impact on the Hopkins GPA.
Writing Seminars majors
participants will enjoy membership in the Department of English at St. Andrews and typically take one creative writing workshop, one hybrid literature and writing course, and possibly also one elective. Students will need to meet with Professor Dora Malech
, the program's Academic Director, to have their course selections pre-approved for use in the major. Courses passed successfully will be transferred back to Hopkins S/U, without impact on the Hopkins GPA.
The University of St. Andrews also offers a wide range of courses in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, though these courses will need to be pre-approved by a student's major/minor department. Courses passed successfully will be transferred back to Hopkins S/U, without impact on the Hopkins GPA.

Check back soon for Chemistry course equivalencies, which have been pre-approved by the JHU Department of Chemistry for use in the major.
Courses in the Arts and Sciences can be selected from the University's Undergraduate Course Catalog
. Students will need to have courses pre-approved by their major/minor departments and earn the equivalent of a C or better in order to transfer credits back to Hopkins. Grades will not appear on the Hopkins transcript or factor into the GPA.

Students pay JHU tuition, which will be billed to the student account. Students pay housing directly to the housing provider on site. Financial aid may be applied toward the cost of the program.

Students must complete the University of St. Andrews' Study Abroad Application
, by the deadlines indicated above. Be sure to apply as an Undergraduate Study Abroad student (i.e., not an Exchange student). And note that in addition to completing the online application for St. Andrews, you will also need to submit an official transcript and letter of recommendation by the deadline indicated.
