Hopkins Intersession in Salamanca, Spain:
Intensive Spanish Language & Culture
Students will take a 3 credit Spanish Language course and a 3 credit Spanish Culture course for a total of 6 credits. Students can take any Spanish level from Elements II all the way through Spanish for the Professions courses in Salamanca and be eligible to take the next course in the Spanish language sequence in the spring semester. Students will also have the opportunity to improve their language skills by living with host families in Salamanca.

A college town that is both medieval and modern, Salamanca was founded by the Romans in the 4th century, and it teems with cafes, tapas bars, shops, night life, and a rich mix of locals, students, and European tourists.
Students will earn a total of 6 graded Humanities (H) credits for the two courses:
HA.211.290 Modern Spanish Culture (3 H credits): This course replaces the AS.211.390 Modern Spanish Culture course offered at JHU. It includes field trips and cultural activities within Salamanca as well as excursions to other cities in Spain.
One of the following 3 credit courses offered:
Spanish for the Professions (Medical, Business, International Relations)
Advanced Spanish Composition
Advanced Spanish Conversation
Students will be able to take the next Spanish course in the language sequence following successful completion of this program.
