Hopkins Engineering in Spain
Research Internships at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), host of the JHU semester study abroad program in Madrid, offers Hopkins undergraduate engineering students the opportunity to participate in guided engineering projects in labs on campus. Each student will be assigned to a tutor who will guide and supervise the student’s task and research paper.
The cost of the program is TBD, which will be billed to the JHU student account and includes housing, all meals, an excursion to Galicia, local transportation, airfare, and international health insurance.
Rising juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply for the Vredenburg Travel Fund, which funds international summer experiential activities for undergraduates in the Whiting School of Engineering through collaboration, investigation, and application. The Vredenburg application deadline is February 26, 2020.
Students will be placed with English-speaking host families in the center of Madrid, which will provide them with logistical support (meals, laundry services, internet access, etc.) during their stay. All of the homes are in safe neighborhoods within walking distance of public transportation.
