Hopkins Engineering in Singapore:
SERIUS Research Internships at National University of Singapore

Singapore

National University of Singapore (NUS) offers an 8-week internship program to students from select U.S partner universities each summer. Students will undergo internships in NUS engineering labs, developing research skills and discovering what's on the cutting edge in engineering and technology from faculty and researchers who are experts in their fields.

"For my project, I helped work on the optimization of an in vitro flow loop system that studies the hemodynamic characteristics of the tricuspid valve. The results of the experiments will be used to evaluate a mechanical valve treatment for tricuspid regurgitation. [...] My project allowed me to delve into a highly specific subject and gave me helpful insight into what I want to do in the future.”

-Evelyn Yeh, BME major

Location

Singapore, Singapore

Singapore is at the heart of Southeast Asia, and English is used, because of its British colonial heritage. It is the most user-friendly English-speaking introduction to Asia, and an excellent gateway to discover and learn more about the surrounding region. The country is a melting pot of cultures and has a unique blend of East and West. You'll get fantastic insights into Asian cultures and practices, uniquely mixed with Western influences, as you interact with both local and international students, and explore Singapore's mix of cultures.
