Budapest Semesters in Mathematics (BSM)
Summer Program

Budapest - St Stephens
Experience Budapest Semesters in Mathematics, the highly acclaimed study-abroad program, for eight weeks of your summer.   • 3.0 Cumulative GPA or above
  • Students must have completed at least one semester of Real Analysis (a first course in the Theory of Analysis) or Abstract Algebra by the start of the program
  • Students must have completed one year of college prior to the start of the program

Courses and Credits

Students typically take 2 classes. Courses count for 3 – 4 JHU credits each. Each course usually meets for two hours a day, four days a week. the castle

Classes are taught in English by eminent Hungarian professors, most of whom have had teaching experience in North American universities. In keeping with Hungarian tradition, teachers closely monitor each individual student’s progress. Classes are small with a focus on problem-solving, student creativity, and group learning.

Students are charged on their student account the cost of the program and a JHU per-credit study abroad fee. The per-credit study abroad fee is based on a per-credit proration of the JHU 12% study abroad fee (12% of Full-Year Tuition/30 credits = per credit study abroad fee).
