Cost
Students will be charged the cost of the program as established by the host university or provider, a study abroad and registration fee equivalent to 12% of Johns Hopkins tuition, and the JHU-required international health insurance fee. Johns Hopkins is responsible for making direct payments to host universities and providers on behalf of students. Fees will be posted to students’ Hopkins SIS accounts by the Student Accounts Office in July for Fall or Academic Year programs and in December for Spring programs.
Students are responsible for all additional costs that are not included in mandatory fees. Additional costs may include: housing, airfare, personal expenses, meals, visas, and other incidental expenses. Some programs may include costs for many of these services as part of their mandatory fees. In those cases Hopkins will include those fees when making direct payment to the provider on behalf of students. The fees will be billed to students by Hopkins according to the timeline indicated above.
Financial Aid
Financial aid may be applied toward the cost of this program and credited to the student's account. Students with financial need can expect to pay the same out of pocket for semester/academic year study abroad programs as they do at JHU, regardless of program cost. See the Student Financial Support Study Abroad web page for more information. Financial aid does not apply to most summer or intersession programs.
Scholarships
Students may apply for additional funding opportunities for study abroad. These awards are both need and merit based and are competitive. For more information about these and external scholarship opportunities, please visit the Global Education Office's Scholarships web page.
Budgeting
Please see below for an estimated cost of attendance for this program by semester. The Spring worksheet appears after the Fall. Remember that all fees are approximate and subject to change.
